In the Bolnick Lab, we study the role of ecology in driving the evolution of biological diversity, focusing on the maintenance of variation within populations, and divergence between populations. Recently, our primary focus has been on how host-parasite ecological interactions drive the evolution of host immune function. We combine a wide variety of research strategies to address such questions, including field natural history, field and lab experiments, genomics, immunology, theory, and meta-analysis.
